12/06/11 - Torture Squad for the first time at Amapá
The Torture Squad is headlining the biggest festival of Amapá, the Quebramar Festival. The band ends the rock night at the festival, which still has eight groups of Amapá. The fourth edition of Quebramar happens from 6 to 11 December, in the Fortaleza de São José de Macapá, considered one of the most beautiful in the country. Programming is diverse, focused on music, visual arts, literature, theater, visual and musical attractions as Pepeu Gomes, Júpiter Maçã, Autoramas and Violentango from Argentina. Besides concerts, the festival features lectures, workshops and debates, and the Torture Squad members participate with other musicians and show business professional in a chat with the topic "The Directions of Metal in Brazil". The group goes on promoting the album Aequilibrium and has just returned from a tour with more than 40 concerts in 13 countries in Western and Eastern Europe, including a performance at the biggest metal festival in the world, the Wacken Open Air in Germany.

The Torture Squad's frontman Vitor Rodrigues announced in Sâo Luis do Maranhão the date of the "Metal Open Air 2012 Festival". This festival is expected to be the biggest metal festival in the country. "Metal Open Air" April, will take place on 20th, 21st, and 22nd and will present 20 international 20 national acts from all strains of metal.

09/26/11 - TORTURE SQUAD is one of the headliners of German Festival NOAF 2011
The Brazillian Death/Thrashers of TORTURE SQUAD is one of the main headliners of Neuborn Open Air Festival 2011, that happens on Wörrstadt, Germany, between 26 and 27 august.
It's the second time the Brazilian band plays at the festival – first time was in 2008 – and it'll share the stage with Sodom, Grave Digger, Ross the Boss, Suicide Angels, and others.
NOAF was created in 2005, and ever since great bands as Kreator, Tiamat, Holy Moses, Rage, Dew Scented had been played in the last editions.

08/05/11 - Amilcar Christófaro's workshop on Wacken Open air/Germany
This next friday , at restaurant "post" in Wacken, at the Booling Alley will happen a series of workshops, among them, one from the Torture squad drummer Amilcar Christófaro.
This workshop will have a different approach, talking just about warm up exercices, as says Christófaro:
"I'm exciting about it, this is a different and really important issue to talk with all drummers. Warming up hands and foots you can get in on the stage more confident to do what you have to do and play the show the best you can...all the muscles will be already prepared to do it..It's a really good subject to talk about it."
Torture Squad will play on Wacken on WET Stage, on Saturday, at 14;45pm.

As first reported last week, SEPULTURA was forced to postpone its July 27 concert at Stadtsaal in Lendorf, Austria because the band's drummer, Jean Dolabella, was suffering from tendonitis. The show has been rescheduled for Monday, August 1.
Commented SEPULTURA guitarist Andreas Kisser: "In the last July 27th, in Lendorff, Austria, we supposed to another show of the very successful European tour for [the new SEPULTURA album] 'Kairos'.
"We are having a great time in Europe, but our drummer, Jean Dolabella, had an injury on his arm due to a muscle stress. He couldn't play the gig and we had to cancel the show. We thought about options for drummers to do some shows while Jean could have time to recover, therefore we wouldn't have to cancel any more shows. We were very lucky, 'cause on that same day, [we got in contact with] the band from Brazil TORTURE SQUAD, a great thrash group that are conquering their space outside the country. They are here for a tour and SEPULTURA and TORTURE SQUAD had two festivals to play together. Amilcar Christófaro is a great drummer and huge SEPULTURA fan, he knows a lot from our early stuff, and when we talked to him he was ready to help us. We already did four shows with him and is going really great; he's amazing playing our stuff.
"Jean is recovering well and maybe in the next two to three days will be back."

07/14/11 - Torture Squad & Sepultura perform together in Europe
Torture Squad, on their Aequilibrium tour, and the Brazilian metal kings from Sepultura, promoting their latest album Kairos, will perform together in two festivals in Germany next August.
The first gig will be at the Eisenwahn Festival in Obersinn city, and the second, at the great Wacken Open Air, where will also play world metal giants such as Ozzy Osbourne, Judas Priest, Motörhead, Suicidal Tendencies, Morbid Angel and others.
According to the members, this will be a remarkable moment for the band’s career, as the drummer Amilcar Christófaro says:
"What can I say about it? The pleasure and the honor are as great as the consideration, respect and pride we feel for Sepultura ... By the way, I would like to make a request here: Andreas, play Black Sabbath with us! (laughs).

After "Holiday in Abu Ghraib" video, the brazilian band releases another one, and the new video clip is to the "Storms" song, which is also present in the latest album AEquilibrium.
Produced by Studio Kaiowas, (www.studiokaiowas.com.br) this video features images taken during the AEquilibrium recording sessions made at Norcal Studios, mixed with outdoor scenes.
“The video is great. It seems to me like some kind of tribute to AEquilibrium era, showing everybody recording the album and scenes off stage...On the future, everytime we're watching the video, we'll remember all those moments... cool.” Said the drummer Amilcar Christófaro.

the festival Abril Pro Rock
TORTURE SQUAD will be performing for the first time at Abril Pro Rock Festival , held annually in Recife /PE.
The gig will happen the next Friday 14th of April on P-B stage at 11.30 pm.

Torture Squad has just confirmed their participation at the Neuborn Open Air Festival, which happens annually in the city of the same name in Germany. This year’s issue will have Grave Digger and Sodom as headliners.
It’s the second time that Torture Squad performs at the festival. In 2008, the band shared the stage with Rage, Dew Sentenced, and other bands.
Neuborn Open Air Festival, better known as NOAF, happens on August 26th and 27th and will also feature bands like Brainstorm, Deadlock and others.

The great Torture Squad and Korzus concert, which was going to happen on March 12th in São Paulo, was postponed to May 22nd (Sunday). The event production, Black T-Shirt Rock Wear, released a note talking about the date change.
“We, from Black T-Shirt Rock Wear, really apologize about the concert postponement. We decided to do it due to internal issues. The ones who had already bought the ticket, will be able to get in the concert with this very same one. But if you want to change it for the new one, you just have to go to one of the selling points with the old ticket and do it. In case you quit going to the concert, you can request the refund of the money paid. We once more apologize about the happening, but we count on everybody to show up there!”

Após 3 meses de trabalho, uma triste notícia
Após 3 árduos meses de trabalho, viemos através de este comunicado informar que, devido à pouquíssima procura e quantidade de ingressos vendidos antecipadamente, o evento Ares Rock Festival (Rock Camp) será cancelado.
A méta era atingir uma boa parte da capacidade de publico liberada pelo clube antecipadamente, para só assim nosso investidor poder injetar capital no evento, entretanto, tivemos menos de 50 ingressos certamente vendidos desde dezembro de 2010, entre válidos para 1, 2 e 3 dias e, excursões não concretizadas, o que desanimou muito todos os envolvidos no evento.
“É com grande aperto no coração que nós da produção tomamos esta atitude, cancelando o evento, mas não podemos continuar com a produção do evento, tendo em vista a saída de nosso único investidor financeiro.”
Possível realização do evento em breve:
Estamos entrando em contato com o município de Embu Guaçú/SP para uma possível realização do evento na cidade, contando com todas as bandas participantes deste, ao ar livre, e sem cobrança de ingresso ao publico. Entretanto ainda não temos informações concretas para serem repassadas ao publico.

01/31/2011 - Torture Squad confirmed at Wacken Open Air 2011
This year’s issue for the greatest metal festival in the world, Wacken Open Air, in Germany, will be special for all Brazilian. Right after the confirmation of the veteran metalheads of Sepultura, a second huge Brazilian name was added to the W.O.A. cast: Torture Squad.
After winning 2007 Metal Battle, the band, which signed with Wacken Records, was back to the festival in 2008 and now is getting ready to play for the third time at the event, which is going to happen through August 4th, 5th and 6th this year.
This show will be a part of the “Aequilibrium Tour 2011”, which has presentations all over Brazil and around some European countries, aiming to promote their latest full-length called “Aequilibrium”.
Besides Torture Squad, Wacken Open Air has already announced that other great bands, like Ozzy Osbourne, Motorhead and Judas Priest (during their farewell tour) will integrate the celebration of over 20 years of the festival.

01/24/2011 - Torture Squad on Ares Rock Rock Camp Fest 2011
The Brazillian metal band TORTURE SQUAD, formed by Vitor Rodrigues (vocals), Andre Evaristo (Guitar), Amilcar Christófaro (drums) and Castor (Bass) was confirmed on Wednesday afternoon (19) as one of the headliners on Ares Rock Rock Camp Fest 2011.
The event will be held in three days, being 18, 19 and 20 February. Torture Squad will play on Saturday, August 19, sharing the stage with the brazillian metal legend Vulcano.

01/12/2011 - Amílcar Christófaro announces his web site!
This is the first personal site address from the Torture Squad drummer Amilcar Christófaro, and the oficial launch will be at 00:00hs on nextthursday, 13.
Have his own web site always been one of his main goal, with this objective reached, 2011 begins in a great energy to the drummer.
" I couldn't start this year better than this. I'm so happy to have my own website now because there wil be my world in any ways. I believe that the TS fans and all drummers will enjoy it. The website will be always updated with drums infos, exercises, sponsors news and much more."
Happy, Christófaro makes a joke; "My name is not easy, so I just hope that everybody can write my name in a right way to enter on the website." Laughs the drummer.

Rafael Augusto Lopes is no longer member of Torture Squad.
He tells about his departure:
"First and foremost I would like to thank my band members who were my second family during three years. Time that we spent basically on the road, and I have to thank to all road brother that I had the pleasure to meet, people who opened their houses to us and gave us all support. There are many names in many cities that naming just a few would beinjust, but you know who you are.
Unfortunally our time is not endless and I choose to invest my time in other activities that couldn't co-exist with the life of a touring musician. I want to produce more, compose more, expand my work and I needed the time I was investing on tour, so I made this decision.
Thanks all TS fans, keep supporting the band and music!

Chosen to fill his place, is the guitarist, teacher and music producer André Evaristo, known in the metal scene for his work with bands Sounder, Magister and Invisible Order.
According to the band: "The choice is always difficult but André, besides being an excellent guitarist, joined the band already showing a great determination, composing and giving his maximum for our music. We are very happy and sure that the choice was more than right."
Torture Squad also announced that its "Æquilibrium Tour 2010/2011" will continue as planned, including having other news to be released shortly.

Rafael Augusto Lopes não é mais integrante da banda Torture Squad.
Ele conta sobre sua saída:
"Antes de mais nada eu gostaria de agradecer profundamente meus companheiros de banda quer foram minha segunda família durante três anos. Tempo que passamos basicamente na estrada, e eu tenho que agradecer a todos os irmãos que eu tive o prazer de conhecer, gente que abriu a porta das suas casas para nós e nos deram todo o apoio, são tantos nomes em tantas cidades que é impossível eu citar alguns sem ser injusto, mas vocês sabem quem são.
Infelizmente nosso tempo é finito e eu optei por investir meu tempo em outras atividades que não poderiam co-existir com a vida de músico na estrada. Quero produzir mais, compor mais, expandir meus trabalhos e precisava do tempo que estava sendo investido em turnês para isso, então tomei essa decisão.
Obrigado todos os fãs do TS, continuem apoiando a banda e a música!

12/17/2010 - Rudolf Schenker about Torture Squad: “They play unbelievable”
In an interview given to a French metal site Radio Metal, Rudolf Schenker, guitarist and founder of one of the most important groups of rock history Scorpions, speaks several things, among them, praising the Brazilian band Torture Squad.
“Rock music actually is attitude, it is pure attitude! There are so many ways you can do with guitars and drums! Lately we were invited in a place called Manifesto, a club in Sao Paulo, I saw a band from Brazil, I forgot their name but they were fantastic! I know they played last time in Wacken. They play unbelievable, the drummer is unbelievable, they are doing music in a different way, the drummer can be the hero now, they are playing so fast! Their music is fast and powerful, the singer was fantastic. There is always something.”
According to the Radio Metal, Rudolf was talking about Angra, but worth making an exception. Rudolf was referring to Torture Squad, when he and James Kottack (drummer) saw Torture Squad concert on the event "Stay Heavy Metal Stars" at manifesto Rock Bar in São Paulo, Brazil.

The Brazilian label Laser Company, which recently released the newest Torture Squad album Aequilibrium, now relaunches the album Hellbound. The good news is, Hellbound now contains special features, one of them, like the drummer Amilcar Christófaro says, is the format of the booklet; "The booklet opening and turning a poster is really cool. The design combines with this kind of format and this is our artistic weapon against no oficial material, so, who download it will not have it."

Meeting of giants drums this weekend in Sao Paulo. The Mapex artists Amilcar Christófaro drummer from Brazilian band Torture Squad, and Cris Adler drummer from American band Lamb of God, will share the stage this Sunday (26/09) at 18h at the show Club Espaço Lux in Sao Bernardo do Campo / SP, Brazil.
Chris Adler and your band Lamb of God will play for the first time in Brazil but Christófaro's performer will be a quite different this time. He won't play with his band Torture Squad, but with another great metal band from São Paulo, Chaos Fear. The Brazilian band will open the only gig that Lamb of God will do in Brazil.
"The drummer of Chaos Fear came out recently and they already had this important gig booked, so I accepted they call and I’ll be there with great pleasure not just because Chaos Fear guys are friends and good people, but because the sound is very f @ #% great too!” Said Christófaro.

New Partnership in Brazil
The Torture Squad's new album, Aequilibrium will be release in Brazil by Laser Company Records. Scheduled for September, the new release marks the beginning of a partnership between the band and the renowned record label.
"Surely Laser Company will do a great job and we are very happy with it. They have a very professional work and it fits with our philosophy, is what we always looking for.” Said the drummer Amilcar Christófaro.
The German label Wacken Records and Laser Company agreed a long-term partnership that includes also a new releasing of the last album Hellbound with new bonus material.
The official release of AEquilibrium and Hellbound will be at 27th edition of Expomusic, the biggest Latin American music fair that happens in Sao Paulo, Brazil.
The band thought of something special to the Brazilian fans. AEquilibrium will bring the new version of the song The Unholy Spell as a bonus, which also has in european version of the album, but will be the only one with a poster. "The Brazilian headbangers follow us around for a long time, so they deserve." The drummer adds.

Azazel is one of the songs from TORTURE SQUAD's new album, Aequilibrium.
That lyrics talks about the return of Azazel to earth, according to the Enoch’s book, Azazel was one of the leader of fallen angels that came down to this earth to live among humans teaching about war weapons.
“That lyrics was born from joke, in other words, impossible to naturally. We’re more excited about for the instrumental part that reminds one of our influences – Morbid Angel – and in a certain moment this track I sang Azazel. After rehearsals I saw that title worked perfectly, so I searched a lot and that’s it.” Said the vocalist Vitor Rodrigues.
Azazel was also the inspiration to fantastic art of Abraão Lucas. “This was my point of view about Azazel... I’d want to make something really good to TORTURE SQUAD fans like it.” Declares the talent artist.

tribute band Evil Eyes
EVIL EYES, the great Brazilian tribute to singer Ronnie James Dio, who get in his line up João Luis (King Bird, Casa das Máquinas) vocals, Silvio Lopes ( King Bird ) guitar, Cesar Manólio bass and Amilcar Christófaro ( Torture Squad ) drums, will perform in the traditional Triumph of Metal Fest, which this year reaches its fourth edition. The event will happen in Pouso Alegre / MG, Friday Aug. 27, 19h at Club de Campo Fernao Dias.
The band will provide a fitting tribute to the master died in May 2010, playing which the best that represents your career, from his days in Rainbow, Black Sabbath through his solo career.
The festival this year will also include an international artist more than special, Paul Di'Anno, the first Iron Maiden singer, will play the whole 1st Iron Maiden album, celebrating 30 years since its official releasing in 1980.

08/21/10 - A. Christófaro plays in Pantera Tribute Party
this saturday in São Paulo
Unscarred, the most Pantera Tribute Band in Brazil, comes to a decade of activity with numerous concerts in whole country.
Scream S. (Vocals), André Curci (guitar - Threat, Metal Attack and Musica Diablo), Carlos Freitas (bass and backing vocals - Full Range and Metal Attack) and Edú Garcia (drums - Threat and Retturn) will celebrate this date with a great show which will feature appearances musicians as Amilcar Christófaro (Torture Squad), Felipe Andreolli (Angra), Rodrigo Oliveira (Korzus), Hugo Mariutti (Henceforth, André Matos), André NM (Musica Diablo / Nitrominds), Wecko Mainente (Threat), among others.
It will be a big party in honor of the greatest bands of all time and the guitar genius, Dimebag Darrell.

10/08/10 - TORTURE SQUAD: ONE OF THE MAIN BANDS
OF STAY HEAVY METAL STARS 2010
For almost seven years of existence, the metal TV show Stay Heavy decided to commemorate this date making a new edition of Stay Heavy Metal Stars, an event that became known for bringing together leading musicians of the Brazillian metal scene in unusual formations playing classics from Heavy Metal world. The show will happen on September 17 and promises to be a great event in a party mood!
For this year's production promises many surprises and advances a different format compared to previous years, bringing as attraction, beyond the traditional jams involving musicians from various groups, and shows from two great Brazilian bands, Torture Squad and Hangar.

NEW ALBUM "AEQUILIBRIUM"
The Brazilian band TORTURE SQUAD released the artcover of their sixth studio album, "AEquilibrium. The recordings were finished in april, with producers Brendan Duffey and Adriano Daga at Norcal Studios in São Paulo.
The CD will be released on August 20 in Europe, and in Brazil the release date will be set soon.

AGENCY IS THE NEW TS’ PARTNERSHIP
The Booking Agency Open the Road has done a lot of tours around South America with several bands from internation scene in the last three years. Months ago band and agency showed interest to work toguether, as the own band says, this partnership came at the right time;

Throughout his career the band Torture Squad has always been known for talk about many subjects in his lyrics and on this next album, Aequilibrium, is not different. One example is the track called 174, based on incident in Rio de Janeiro in 2000.
"The documentary about Bus 174 from the director José Padilha was been my greatest source of inspiration. It is fantastic and shows the events that culminated in a tragic end seen by all on TV.
